While the factory branding for this engine is "100cc," it's important to note that the true displacement of the bicycle engine is 78.6cc. Over the years, Chinese bicycle engine manufacturers have advertised their largest engines as 100cc, which is why we use this label on our website. There is a difference in measuring standards between China and the United States when it comes to engine displacement. In the East, the displacement of an engine includes the area of the cylinder head's combustion chamber in addition to the volume of the cylinder. So, all "100cc" engine kits on the market today are actually 78.6cc in displacement size when measured by U.S. standards.
